Buyer Testimonials

I've just had this process a short time and I can't figure out if I like it or not. True, it really is incredibly easy to set up but configuring the computer software to view on line could be a bit tedious if you are not a techie. You will have to deal with configuring your router/modem as well, to get the perfect settings. So be ready for that. But what is most shocking is that e-mail alerts does not perform. Soon after days of struggling to get this to perform and thinking that I ought to be doing some thing incorrect, I decided to speak to SVAT customer service. I received a call from 1 of their assistance guys who told me point blank that the e-mail function does not perform. In his words "when they tested it in China it worked, but just after they had been shipped to the US that function never worked". So I asked about a firmware update, I was told none was forthcoming. The was a big disappointment for me because I wanted to be alerted. My blackberry phone is not compatible with the unit, so I can't view my cameras from my telephone. But in the interest of complete disclosure, I was fairly pleased with it till I learnt that e-mail alerts does not function. They have to have to make persons conscious of this. I wonder how lots of other SVAT models are like this.

This method is for the paranoid on a budget.
I installed this system at a business enterprise and was trying to figure out exactly where to put the final 2 Cameras. 8 are even more than you'd believe once you start thinking of angles you need covered. I was in a position to have a continuous overlap to where you are usually on at least 2, usually three cameras at once.
The installation went smooth, but my dvr was slightly screwy when I fust hooked it up. None of the buttons on the face would respond. However, the remote and the mouse (which I suggest you use anyways) worked fine, so I was just going to deal with it. Following 3 days of operating cables, going to obtain a lcd tv, and wiring almost everything I turned it on and was impressed with the high quality (night vision particularly). I set up the motion detection so the DVR could hold more. Set the time and date. Massive Note! Be careful when tightening the set screw for adjustment. Confirm that the camera is slid as far back on the wall mount as feasible, and only tighten as significantly as will hold. A previous install with a four camera system i did lately I more than tightened (less complicated than you assume) and broke the set screw portion on the camera. I applied JB Weld and a zip tie to repair it and four months later it really is still holing sturdy.
Conclusion: Slowish interface coupled with low end gear give you a surveillance method on a spending budget. You can make out smaller sized facts and night vision is not bad at all. General, this is a superior decide to buy for $500
