Item Description

From the Manufacturer
Leviton delivers lots of merchandise that will help lower electrical expenses and add convenience to everyday living. By simply replacing standard switches with occupancy sensors reduces power consumption and extends bulb life. Leviton's Decora (R) Occupancy Sensor Switches automatically turn lights ON when you enter a space and OFF when you leave. In addition to the convenience of hands-absolutely free switching, motion sensors ensure that lights are not left ON unnecessarily for hours at a time. It makes use of "passive infrared technologies" in order to detect human presence in a room, and respond to the infrared heat persons naturally emit to monitor a precise location. When this "heat" is sensed, the lights will stay ON in the area, and then turn the lights OFF, when the space is vacated or are unoccupied. Compatible with Decora screwless snap-on wallplates (sold separately). Decora PR180-1LW 500W, Single Pole, 3-Way, 180 Degrees, 400 sq. ft. Buyer Critiques

This item has a a lot lower cost than some of these switches because it fails to make it clear that it will NOT perform with newer compact fluorescent bulbs (you will have horrible quirks if you try it). This can be worked about by adding an incandescent to the circuit this switch controls (if several bulbs). If you only have one light on the circuit (like a closet) you will have to just use an incandescent. That becoming stated...
I observed one particular reviewer mention if the power flashes off when it comes back on the lights will stay on and you will have to turn each and every switch on and off. I have not had this concern. When the power goes off and back on, the lights do come on but they go off at the interval you have them set at just as they would if motion had set them off.
I discover the sensor on this switch is substantially far better than other individuals I've had expertise with (absolutely improved than the GE). So lengthy as you know upfront about the previously mentioned "catches", you can take benefit and get a fantastic deal on a sensor switch.

I was suspicious of this item, at the price tag, but I purchased two of them and they are both operating nicely.
The handyman did not get the three-way wired proper, so it is essential to leave the toggle switch in the on position at the bottom of the stairs, but that is no challenge. From time to time the sensor even picks up the person at the bottom of the stairs. If not, just flip it off and back on when or twice and that triggers the light. Then leave it in the on position. The sensor will turn it off automatically.
If it lasts, it will have been a rather fine deal.
