SM-80 is an add-on wireless PIR motion sensor for SecurityMan Air-Alarm program. Its wireless transmitting distance is up to 450ft (in open area). It includes a 9V alkaline battery which could final up to two years. Motion detection range is 100° 10x10m.

The PIR sensor works fairly properly. It scans each and every five seconds reacts pretty speedily. I ordered extra sensors to compliment the Air Alarm kit I ordered. The adjustability of the mounting makes it very easy to aim once a mounting location is chosen.
Of the three sensors, there is a single that appears to have one undesirable trait. I'm unsure if it is one of a kind to that sensor or if it is considering that it is in a high traffic place or negative luck with 9V batteries. The PIR scans each five seconds according the manual and when it detects movement, it glows red. The sensor in question has used three 9V batteries considering that it was mounted. The original battery did not final incredibly lengthy and I assumed it was since it was a no name battery included with the unit. The second lasted 3 months and it did not glow "white" when the battery is low according to the manual. The red LED simply would was not as vivid as typical (it was a 9V that I had, but tested "decent" with the battery tester before installed- so it could have been just undesirable luck with two batteries). It is on it's third battery in six months. That is the only issue that has come up given that the installation and so far just with one particular of the 3 PIR sensors. The Air Alarm and sensors are not even 1 year old yet, but the PIR does operate as stated.
When these work, they are awesome. I currently have five installed, and normally speaking, they perform correctly. But, of the eight total that I have ordered, I have had difficulties with three: one wouldn't turn on at all, one looked like it was turned on but would not detect motion, and the third 1 detects motion inconsistently. I am returning the two that don't work at all (through Amazon) I'll update the assessment if there are any difficulties with the return.
